Maxi skirt inspired in the African jungle with a fun print mixing zebra and leopard and an elastic waistband. This versatile piece can be worn not only as a skirt but also as a sleeveless dress.

CROCHET AND VEGAN LEATHER

7 July 2020

In order to expand my knowledge and skills as well as using more diverse techniques, I used crochet paired with stretchy vegan leather in this outfit.
The bralette piece is a combination of two yarns: purple and mixed color. Construction wise, it is diverse in stitches, as well. I finished the bralette with a double string neck strap and a crisscross back fastening.
The skirt has pleats on the front, which are loose at the center to let the fabric fall naturally. The back is detailed with a V shape yoke.

SATIN BACKLESS TOP AND CULOTTE TROUSERS SET

6 July 2020

This two-piece set is composed of a backless top with crisscrossed strings around the shoulders and the back, as well as a pair of wide leg cropped culottes with elastic on the waistband and frayed hems.
Satin is a very light and breathable fabric, which makes it a good material to wear in the Spring/Summer season. The set is versatile and can be worn casual or more dressy.

AFRICAN ROOTS DRESS

10 June 2020

Our roots play an important part in who we are, how we act, our habits and tastes. The costumer to who this dress was made for has African roots so what a better idea than to show them through what she is wearing on top of her skin?
A straight silhouette, an allusive print, a neckline that falls naturally on both front and back with the extra fabric on it, dropped armholes and side slits to allow the lower legs and theme matching sandals to show through.

NAMASTE SKATER SNEAKERS

22 June 2020

Every yoga practice is finished by a Namaste. This peacefull gesture is what drives the story of the paintings in these skater sneakers. They include several symbolisms associated with this practice: the Ohm symbol, lotus flowers, as well as Ying & Yang.

ABSTRACT GEOMETRIC PRINT SNEAKERS

22 June 2020

Using geometric shapes in an abstract composition is a fun way to give life to plain sneakers. Color also helps setting the mood of any painting or composition and it was generously used in this project. This costumer loves color and irreverent designs.

DRAPED ONE SHOULDER TOP

24 April 2020

Drapping is one of my favorite techniques. It highlights the shape of the body, gives movement to the garments and also volume and texture.
I have applied that technique on a one shoulder top with femininity as my focus point. Hips are accentuated as well as the chest. This garment is irreverent, therefore one side is not the same as the other and the lengths mismatch.

BLAZER SLEEVE DETAIL

23 April 2020

When doing a closet clean up clothes deserve a second chance… a second thought, to be more precise. What this means is to think what we can do to make them look special for us again, either by decorating, painting, cutting or extending.
This last option was the one I used to give my personal touch to a red blazer I own. The sleeves were too short for my taste so I added a panel at the end on a shimerring black fabric. The black panel is folded so that the double layer matches the thickness of the rest of the blazer.

PATCHWORK CROP TOP

22 April 2020

This crop top is made with scraps of fabric collected from samples, mixing colors, textures and compositions. Finishings are raw for a more punk rock look. The different pieces were sewn on top of a simple top with a lilac topstitch for a contrasting detail.
Patchwork is a very interesting, creative and sustainable technique to apply on garment making.
